Least known of the many organizations that served during the war, the (WASPS) Women's Airforce Service Pilots nevertheless performed a vital job. Serving with the Army, but denied Army status, they served inside the United States as ferry pilots, target towers, and in dozens of other capacities. In addition, they survived a rigid training program.
